Welcome Back to an exciting year at Barrhead Composite High School. We know that many students and families are looking forward to returning to a more normal school environment and so are the staff! Below are a few important dates and information items to be aware of:
Monday, August 30
Our school will be closed to the public for this day as we participate in our School Based PD and prepare for the new school year.
Tuesday, August 31
Grade 7, 11 & 12 start at 8:55 am
Grade 7
- all students will enter and be greeted by staff in the junior high foyer on the east side of the school. Bus students will be met at the back of the building and directed to the East gym
- Students will be directed to go to the East gym where class lists will be posted.
- Home room teachers will meet students in the gym before heading to their first block class where locker number and combination will be handed out.
Grade 7 Parent Information Session – 6:30 pm in the Drama Theater
Grade 11 and 12
- pick up schedule including locker number and combination in the west gym.
- sign up for timetable changes if required
- go to first block class
Wednesday, September 1
Grade 8, 9 & 10 start at 8:55 am
Grade 8
- will be greeted in the junior high foyer and directed to the East Gym where class lists will be posted.
- homeroom teachers will meet students in the gym
- students will then go with their teacher to the first block class to receive locker number and combination
Grade 9
- will be directed to the Center Gym where class lists will be posted.

Grade 10
- will be directed to the West Gym to pick up schedules, locker numbers and combinations.
- Students can sign up for timetable changes if required.
Grade 10 Parent Information Session – 6:30 pm in the Drama Theater
Meet the Teacher/Open House from 3:30 – 5:30 pm
Please join us at the school to meet our staff. We have 10 new teachers joining us this year! Mrs. Fletcher will be available in the office to help parents set up their PowerSchool parent portal.
Bus Students:
All bus students will be required to wear a mask. This includes any students who will be traveling on a bus for any extra curricular activities or field trips.
Junior High bus students – enter through rear east doors beside the Art Room (left doors when facing the school)
High School bus students – enter through the rear west doors beside the Foods room (right doors when facing the school)
Timetable Changes:
For students who attended BCHS last year, we will address timetable requests on staggered entry days. This week our admin team will be creating timetables for newly arriving students.
