To the Students & Parents of BCHS
We are pleased to announce that Barrhead Composite High School students will be participating in the STARS videogame Wake-A-Thon fundraising event, scheduled for April 17, 2026 at 4:00 pm. The event will conclude on April 18, 2026 at 8:00 am. Over the past two years, BCHS students have raised over $10,000 to donate to the air ambulance service, and we are grateful to be able to continue with this event.
Permission forms will be available on PowerSchool, and a $20 pledge must accompany this form. The deadline for permission forms plus this $20 pledge is Monday, April 13, 2026. Students will still be able to continue with their fundraising efforts until the start of the event. Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraiser, and there will be swag bags for the top twenty students in their fundraising efforts.
We are going to be in need of parent volunteers for this event to run smoothly, and therefore the appropriate paperwork needs to be submitted to the office.
Participants must be members of BCHS and in good standing, without any suspensions in this school year. We also are looking for a goal of having 50 student participants this year, as a minimum.
Once the event begins, students will not be allowed to exit and return to the school. If there are extenuating circumstances, permission may be granted on a case-by-case basis, after communication with Ms deBeaudrap and/or Miss Corrigan.
Pledges can be collected with paper forms, or online at
https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/stars-foundation/p2p/2026BCHS/ Students will need to register as an individual and then they will be able to begin collecting pledges. Paper pledge forms will be available in the school office on Monday, March 23.
Currently, we have a pizza supper and a pancake breakfast planned, and a concession will be on-site. Any proceeds made from the concession and our tournament events will become part of the overall donation to STARS.
More information will be provided as we move closer to the event. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to myself at alix.debeaudrap@pembinahills.ca.
Thank you for your support in this great cause!
Ms Alix deBeaudrap
