What an incredible week for our Senior High Track and Field team! Our athletes headed to Edmonton this week to compete in the Zone Championships, and they absolutely crushed it.

We are proud to have had 19 athletes represent our school at the meet. Every single competitor showed amazing grit, determination, and sportsmanship.

 Women’s Events

• Lina Kafka:  Gold in 1500m,  Gold in 3000m, &  Gold in the 4x400m Relay

• Kamryn Hiemstra:  Gold in Triple Jump

• Makayla Schole:  Gold in Long Jump,  Gold in the 4x100m Relay, &  Gold in the 4x400m Relay

• Kirsten Strydhorst:  Gold in Shot Put,  Silver in Discus, &  Gold in the 4x100m Relay

• Katrina Van Dijk:  Gold in 200m,  Silver in 100m, &  Gold in the Relay

• Nicole Batty:  Silver in 800m &  Gold in the 4x100m Relay

• Tzeira Jevne:  Silver in 3000m

 Men’s Events

• Seth Craig:  Silver in 1500m &  Gold in the 4x400m Relay

• Noah Wierenga:  Silver in 3000m &  Bronze in 1500m

• Locke Montgomery:  Bronze in 1500m &  Gold in the 4x400m Relay

 Next Stop: Provincials!

Thanks to these powerhouse performances, 10 of our athletes have officially qualified for the Alberta Provincial Championships!

They will be traveling to Calgary next week to compete against the best in the province. Let’s wish them the absolute best of luck as they go for gold!
