Ron Pate Memorial Track and Field

Barrhead Composite High School recently hosted its annual Ron Pate Memorial Track Meet, bringing together all of our Grade 7–9 students for a fantastic day of friendly competition, school spirit, and athletic achievement.

After keeping a close eye on the forecast, the weather cooperated beautifully, providing the perfect backdrop of sunshine and cool breezes for our young athletes.

Highlights from the Field and Track

Our junior high students brought their A-game, showing incredible determination and sportsmanship across all categories:

  • Running: From the explosive energy of the 100m sprints to the grit and endurance of the long-distance runs.

  • Jumping: Students soared to new heights in the high jump and stretched their limits in the long jump pits.

  • Throwing: Incredible displays of technique and strength in shot put and discus.

A Huge Thank You! > Events like this wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of our staff, high school student volunteers, and track officials who kept the events running smoothly. Most importantly, congratulations to all of our Grade 7–9 students for participating, cheering each other on, and making it a memorable day!
