Return to School – Letter from Principal Eamor

The following letter was emailed to parents and guardians of BCHS students.

Nov 24, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are pleased to inform our school community that the recent confirmed case of a student contracting COVID -19 has been resolved. All students and staff members are able to return for in-class teaching and learning in our building. No additional staff or student cases have been identified that affect our school. Due to the efforts of all involved with this case and the timely communication to the school, the impact to our school was minimized.

As we know, AHS is overwhelmed right now with the number of positive cases in the province. This has made it impossible for them to inform the school of a positive case in a timely manner. For this reason, it is crucial that families have direct communication with the school. We can start notifying potential close contacts much sooner to minimize the opportunity for spread of COVID -19 between students and within our community.

We appreciate the extra efforts that all of our families, students and staff have taken in order to be able to attend school during a pandemic. We understand the frustration with the health measures; they can seem annoying or restrictive, but they have allowed us to continue guiding students on their learning journeys here in the building.

We are hopeful that the number of active cases in our community continues to be low which will help us to maintain our school routines. We feel this is so important for students, families, staff and the community.

As you have heard so often in these past months, we are in this together. Thank you once again for continuing to be diligent with daily screening and all of the other health measures.

Sincerely,

Ms. Darcie Eamor
Principal
