Nov 30 – Move to online schooling

Dear Parents, Guardians and students:

As per the new mandatory public health measures, on Monday, November 30th, classes will move to online schooling.  We have been asked to maintain continuity of instruction so the same schedules that the students have at school will be maintained at home but via Google Classroom and Google Meet.

  • Junior High Students (grades 7-9) can find their class schedules on this Google Sheets. The classes are listed near the bottom of the screen. Click the class (8-1 for example) to see that class’ schedule. Under the File menu option you can make a copy or download the spreadsheet file.
  • Senior High Students (grades 10-12), can access their schedules on PowerSchool and teachers will post information on their Google Classroom.

Parents also have access to student schedules via PowerSchool. If you or your student are having problems logging into the PowerSchool app, please contact the school 780-674-8522.

ATTENDANCE will be taken for each class, based on participation in the Google Meets or other check-in expectations that teachers have for their classes. You can still view your student’s attendance on PowerSchool.  Teachers will contact parents directly if a student is consistently not attending or submitting assignments.  Our goal is to ensure each students success!

Students can access Google Meet links through their teacher’s Google Classroom.

Please watch for a separate message on how to borrow a Chromebook from the school for your child which will come out by the end of Monday.

If consistent internet is a concern, please contact teachers directly, by email or phone 780-674-8522, to make alternative arrangements to access instruction and assignments.

It is important to understand that this at-home learning time is not the same as last spring.  Some significant differences include:

  • The school will remain open.
  • No reduction in coursework or curriculum expectations.
  • Student achievement will continue to be based on the students’ performance on assessments and assignments.
  • Students can reach out to teachers to make individual appointments for tutorial help to make sure you do not fall behind.

We look forward to seeing you next week through your Google Meets!  If you have questions or difficulties, please connect with your teachers – they are there to help you.

All the best!

Mrs. Eamor
