Mrs. Shipton’s Social 20-1 class is currently engaging in a RISK simulation as part of their preparation for studying the World Wars. The objective of the game—world domination—provides students with valuable insights into military strategy and the critical importance of forming alliances, as well as understanding the consequences of such decisions.
This activity requires students to develop strategic planning skills, including determining which continents to target for territorial bonuses and how to position their forces effectively. Additionally, students must demonstrate adaptability by responding to emerging opportunities and threats throughout gameplay. These elements directly parallel the strategic considerations and decision-making processes that characterized the World Wars.
